A Kissed Tucked Away
By Nathaniel Aaron Bryant
Save that kiss for the next time we meet
Cuddled all alone then my leg softly grazes your feet
So unplanned, like a falling star
A moment so eager to pass us by
A minute to prove rationality can die
Or perhaps be tamed, its not failed so far
To gaze into your eyes and know we relate
And our lips meet before there is time to hesitate
Save that kiss so I know what these feelings are
Birth Day
by Lynette Jefferies
molded of clay
her beginnings
shaped from infancy
until today
shining more
than all the rest
this precious pearl
always at her best
unselfish and beautiful
attributes of a woman
beginning to show
to fulfill her purpose
for all mankind to know
that this black diamond
remains in tune with all
understanding to pick herself up
though she may stumble and fall
the days are not far
a woman she will be
as parents
this is the time that we
correct encourage love
lest we let go
Speechless
by Lynette Jefferies
have i lost it
or am i just
at a loss
for words...
to be speechless
while searching
for a thought
is like losing
your place
in broad daylight
as i struggle
to make sense
my mind goes back
from when
i first began to write
this is my passion
so never long before
the words that flow
find their way
from my soul
to my mind
to paper
and that's shen
i know
this is how
i express myself
the easiest way
to pass on
what i sometimes
can not say
face to face
never meaning
any harm
or wanting to give
reason for alarm
just trying to
get a point across
but will the reader understand
or is it all still a loss
Through the Eyes of a Child
By Sabrina
When I was young, the world was like this
a place of beauty, a place of bliss
and everyday was a brand new game
every person was the same
there was no such thing as hate
if only it were like that today
through the eyes of a child
there's a place of serenity
there's no separation line
there's freedom for every kind
I just wish the world could see
how life would be through the eyes
of a child
When I was young, I was blind
dreaming about a world that wouldn't be
it seemed like nobody cared
if the matter was fair
was I the only one
who could see this cruelty?
The racist pride grows more and more
we all have minds,
but this ain't what they're for
Through the eyes of a child,
there's a place of serenity
there's no separation line
there's freedom for every kind
I just wish the world could see
How life would be
through the eyes of a child
Look all around me, you'll see the hate
can't let it be this way, it can't be too late
not gonna fill my mind with foolish pride
i'll fight for my right, and what I feel inside
through the eyes of a child
there's a place of serenity
there's no separation line
there's freedom for every kind
I just wish the world could see
how life would be through the eyes of
a child

Wild Imaginations
by Clarence Fuentes
as i try to comfort the shallow wither of your past,
i have travel millions of crystals to follow your path,
unworthy to console
your meekness burns my lost soul,
touches within lamenting core,
burnt image of an aura of your inner serenity
yet, in the stillness of the mourning souls,
i will be bringing the ephemeral bliss that you desire
My Brothers
by Hazel
My brothers are unique in their own way they are fathers,
brothers and sons so yes I'm loving everyone. I love the texture of their hair
the richness of their skin much love to my strong black men. See some people in
this world have a lesson to learn because in Gods eyes and mine you'll always be
someone and through the worlds hate you've always made it see next to black
women you're the next best life created. To me you're the leaders of this great
nation I love your drive, your strive and your determation. The essence of your
beauty shines brigther then any star to me and like you there can be no other
this for MY STRONG BLACK BROTHERS.
